I VOTE BECAUSE.... IS A NON-PARTISAN CAMPAIGN TO REGISTER VOTERS and GET OUT THE VOTE IN 2020
Voter turnout was grim: more than 200 million Americans were eligible to vote in 2016 but only 59% made it to the polls. The 2014 midterm election registered historically low turnout at just 37%. For democracy to thrive, we the people need to exercise our right to vote and make our voices heard. WE CHANGED THAT IN 2018, WHERE MORE PEOPLE VOTED IN THE MIDTERMS SINCE THE 1960’s.
In 2018, I vote because… promoted voter registration and voter turnout in communities with historically low numbers by displaying portraits By Janette Beckman of everyday citizens and their “I Vote Because…” quotes on over 15 billboards and 25 buses and in houses of worship, schools, and community centers around the country.
It's important for every American to vote. I Vote Because... efforts are focused on areas where people from all parties feel their votes are most pivotal in 2020-- I Vote Because… will be coming to College campuses AND COMMUNITIES NEAR YOU.
THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE!
